Thailand is not yet a party to the Hague Apostille Convention (as of 2026). Foreign use of Thai documents therefore almost always requires a two-step legalization chain: (1) Thai MFA Department of Consular Affairs, (2) the destination country's embassy in Bangkok.

We staff a runner team that queues at every major Bangkok embassy each working day, file the bundle, and ship the originals worldwide. Six in-house Notarial Services Attorneys produce and certify the translations.

End-to-end workflow

Step 1 — email/LINE scans for free review. Step 2 — certified translation signed and sealed by a Notarial Services Attorney. Step 3 — runners submit to MFA Chaeng Wattana (3–5 working days). Step 4 — runners file at the destination embassy (1 day to 4 weeks depending on embassy). Step 5 — DHL/EMS worldwide.

Every stage is tracked under a case reference; clients receive LINE updates with timestamped photos of submission and pick-up.

Why route through a law firm

Most major Bangkok embassies (China, Japan, Korea, Germany among others) will only accept translations certified by a registered Notarial Services Attorney. Self-filed translations are routinely rejected, costing the embassy fee and the wait time. A law firm with in-house Notarial Attorneys eliminates that risk and keeps a 10-year case archive for re-issuance.

Frequently asked questions

How long does embassy legalization take?

It depends on the embassy. China/Japan/Korea typically 3–7 working days, several European embassies 1–4 weeks. We confirm an accurate timeline by document type and embassy before starting.

Do I need to appear at the embassy?

Most embassies accept submission by Power of Attorney through our team. A few (e.g. Germany for certain document types) require the signatory in person — we flag this upfront.

Do documents have to clear MFA first?

Yes. Almost every embassy in Bangkok requires Thai MFA authentication before they will legalize.

What do embassy fees cost?

They range from about 700 THB (Vietnam) to 3,500–5,500 THB per document (Germany / France for certain documents). Passed through at cost.

Where do foreign documents for use in Thailand get authenticated?

They go through the issuing country's authority and the Royal Thai Embassy there, then re-stamped by MFA Thailand in Bangkok.

Can an Apostille replace embassy legalization for Thailand?

No. Until Thailand accedes to the Apostille Convention, the two-step chain (MFA + embassy) remains mandatory even when the destination is itself an Apostille country.

How long are legalized documents valid?

Generally indefinite, but some receiving authorities require documents issued within the last 3–6 months. We recommend verifying with the receiver before use.

Do you keep client copies?

Yes — we archive every case for 10 years so we can re-issue certified copies if the destination authority later asks for additional originals.
