A NAATI certified translation is a translation produced by a translator credentialed by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (Australia). The translator stamps and signs each page so that Australian government agencies — Department of Home Affairs (DHA), DFAT, Services Australia, state births/deaths/marriages registries, AHPRA, ACECQA, universities and TRA — accept the document without further legalisation inside Australia.

NAATI translations are accepted directly inside Australia without MFA legalisation, because the NAATI stamp itself is the recognised credential. For documents used inside Thailand or for a Thai consulate filing, a Thai notarised translation is enough; for documents used inside Australia, NAATI is the safer route.
