Thai-document notarization
Our firm's six Notarial Services Attorneys (licensed by the Lawyers Council of Thailand under Regulation 2546) notarize Thai-language documents — Powers of Attorney, true copies, affidavits, corporate resolutions — and chain the file through MFA and embassy legalization in one engagement. Transcript / diploma for overseas study, work permit, professional licence.

Academic Transcript & Diploma (ใบรับรองผลการศึกษาและปริญญาบัตร) · Education — Transcript / diploma for overseas study, work permit, professional licence.
Typical use case: Study abroad, work-permit qualification, Apostille for foreign employer.
Notary act performed: Certified true copy + certified translation + (optional) Apostille.
Timing is confirmed after the original, language pair, required wording and receiving authority have been checked.
Thailand does not have civil-law Notaries Public; instead, the Lawyers Council authorizes specially registered attorneys to provide notarial services equivalent to a Notary Public abroad. Our firm has six such attorneys on staff in Bangkok.
Whether you are a Thai national needing to send documents overseas, or a foreign client whose Thai-issued paperwork needs to be recognized in a third country, we handle notarization, certified translation, MFA legalization, and embassy authentication under one fixed fee.

Step 1 — send scans for review. Step 2 — visit our Bangkok office with originals (or schedule mobile notary). Step 3 — attorney signs & seals. Step 4 — we chain MFA + embassy on your behalf and ship the original to any country.
Typical turnaround: notary alone 30–60 minutes; with MFA + embassy 3–7 working days.
No hidden surcharges. All fees include government stamps.
We retain a 10-year archive of every notarized file. If a foreign court or immigration office requests verification, we re-issue replacement certifications without restarting the process. Sole practitioners cannot offer that continuity.

Is a Thai Notarial Services Attorney recognized abroad?
Yes. Combined with MFA legalization and embassy authentication, the document is recognized in every Hague Apostille and non-Apostille jurisdiction.
Do I need to be physically present?
For signature notarization yes — the attorney must witness the signing. True-copy certifications can be done from originals you mail in.
Can you notarize in English even though the document is in Thai?
Yes. We notarize the Thai original and attach an attorney-supervised English translation in the same engagement.
What ID is acceptable?
Valid Thai ID card or passport (foreigners). Documents must match the ID name exactly.
Mobile notary?
Yes — home, hotel, hospital, or office visits anywhere in Bangkok metro. Travel surcharge applies.
Apostille?
Thailand acceded to the HCCH Apostille Convention in 2026, with entry into force on 28 February 2027. Until then Thai documents still need MFA legalisation followed by the embassy; from that date the MFA Department of Consular Affairs (not our firm) issues Apostilles for use in member countries, and we prepare, translate, notarise and submit the documents.

Short answer: In Thailand the certifying officer is a lawyer registered as a Notarial Services Attorney with the Lawyers Council. The signer must sign in front of that lawyer with original identity documents. The certificate is then authenticated at the Department of Consular Affairs and at the receiving country's embassy where required.

1. Confirm the receiver's requirements before printing
Establish which act is needed (signature witnessing, affirmation or certified copy), whether fixed wording applies, and how many authentication layers the receiver expects.
⏱ Confirmed with quotation
2. Assemble documents and book the signing
Complete the set, print the final text and leave the signature block blank, because signing must happen in the attorney's presence.
⏱ 1 working day (estimate)
3. Sign before the attorney and obtain the certificate
The attorney verifies identity, checks the document, records the act in the register, then signs and seals the certificate.
⏱ 1 working day (estimate)
4. Authenticate at the Department of Consular Affairs
Submit the certificate to the Legalization Division so the attorney's signature is authenticated, where the receiver requires that layer.
⏱ 2-5 working days (estimate, excluding agency queues)
5. Embassy authentication and delivery
File with the receiving country's embassy or consulate under its own procedure, then deliver the sealed set without breaking the cross-seal.
⏱ 3-10 working days (estimate, varies by mission)
| Criterion | Do it yourself | Our team handles it |
|---|---|---|
| Checking destination rules | You contact the receiver and mission and interpret the rules | We confirm requirements and draft wording to match before printing |
| Multi-layer processing | You travel and queue at each layer | We run the layers continuously and report status at each one |
| Rejection risk | Frequent, driven by wording format and document age | Screened in advance by a team with more than 15 years in this field |
| Your time commitment | Several working days spread across the chain | Only the signing appointment |
If you would rather not chase agency rules and queues, our team can run the chain from draft review to delivery. Initial consultation is available by phone, LINE or email.

Document and legalization advisers with 15+ years of practice
Before we start, we read your actual documents and confirm the legalization route matches what the receiving authority asks for. During the work we report progress, and after delivery we still answer questions about how to submit the file.
We prepare documents to the requirements of the receiving authority. Any approval decision remains at that authority's discretion.
Send your documents on LINE for a preliminary review, a recommended legalization route and a written quote.
General guidance, not a case-specific determination. Requirements change with agency notices — confirm with the receiving authority before you act.

Using a qualification across borders involves two separate decisions: whether the document is authentic, and whether the qualification counts. This page sets out who decides each one, in both directions — foreign degrees used in Thailand and Thai degrees used abroad.
Recognition decides what level your qualification is equivalent to and what it entitles you to; that decision belongs to the responsible body, for example the Office of the Civil Service Commission for Thai government appointments. Legalisation only confirms that the document and its translation are authentic, and is done at the Department of Consular Affairs. They are separate steps and you usually need both.
Start by checking whether your institution and programme already appear in the Civil Service Commission's qualification records. If not, the case is assessed individually, normally on the degree certificate, an official transcript and programme details. The outcome is the authority's decision. We prepare and translate the file completely, but no provider can guarantee the result.
Many receiving bodies require the institution to send it directly in a sealed envelope or through the institution's own electronic service. If you open the envelope yourself, the document can be refused. Before ordering copies, ask the receiving body which format it accepts, so you do not pay twice and lose an international postal cycle.
Usually: obtain the English-language version from the institution, have the institution certify the copy, translate if required, legalise at the Department of Consular Affairs, then have it legalised again at the destination country's embassy in Thailand. Once Thailand's Apostille Convention takes effect on 28 February 2027 the chain shortens for member states; before that, the existing route applies.
If the institution itself issued it in English, most receiving bodies ask for nothing further. Where Thai seals or wording appear on the page, an assessor may ask for those parts to be translated. For filings in Germany, Japan, China and similar jurisdictions, a translation into the official language, certified as that country requires, is usually mandatory.
Each private evaluator publishes its own document list and delivery rules. Many require the issuing institution to send documents directly and refuse anything received from the applicant; some accept translations by a qualified independent translator, others insist on a certified translation. Read that agency's requirements before you order documents, because ordering the wrong format costs a whole cycle.
It is assessed case by case. Assessors typically look at whether the awarding institution is accredited in its own country, the structure and credit volume of the programme, and whether any part had to be completed on site. Prepare the programme description and evidence of the institution's accreditation status in advance to avoid repeated requests for more paperwork.
The parts we control — translation and document legalisation — run in working days. The recognition decision itself follows the assessing body's own timeframe and is usually much longer, especially when they have to write to an institution abroad. We advise starting at least one academic term before any job or admission deadline.
When an institution closes, a custodian normally holds the student records — often that country's education ministry or a university that absorbed the programme. We can help identify and approach the right channel for an official copy. If no body will issue a replacement, the receiving authority may be unable to assess the case, which is outside any provider's control.
It depends on the number of documents, the target language and the certification route the receiving body prescribes. Consular and embassy fees follow each office's published rates. Send photos of the degree certificate and transcript to our staff by phone, LINE or email and we will map the exact steps and realistic timeframe for your case.

Australian visa, migration, and university offices accept only NAATI-stamped translations of Thai civil documents.
Most notarised documents also need MFA + embassy legalization before they are accepted overseas.
Foreign registrars require a certified TH↔EN or third-language translation attached to the Notary act.
Short answer: The most frequent causes are signing before meeting the attorney, expired identity documents, choosing a certificate type the recipient does not accept, and skipping a step in the legalisation chain. Each is fixed by re-executing a correctly drafted certificate before the next certification round starts.
If a second round is not an option, our advisers review the recipient's form, select the correct instrument and map the full chain before you start — send us the documents for a pre-check.
